Big price discrepancies, or what does the cost of fencing depend on? Part 2.

As we have already mentioned, many factors contribute to the final cost of a fence. In the previous blog entry, we have already discussed issues related to construction supervision. Today, we will take a closer look at the preparation of the area and materials available on the market.

Even or sloping terrain

If the plot is even, building a fence will be cheaper and easier, because there will be no costs associated with the preparation of the site and it will be possible to apply system solutions. In the case of sloping or difficult terrain, you need to take into account the costs of its leveling or order more expensive, tailor-made elements.

And what about the foundation?

A solid construction needs adequate support, which means that the foundation must be made. Its type and depth should be adapted to the weight of the fence and the type of soil. If the fence is mounted on posts, the spot footing is probably enough. Brick fences however require a continuous footing.

For an investor, this means a significant difference in costs: you will pay more for the foundations of a solid wall fence than for a simple mesh fence. In addition, on a very uneven terrain, it may be necessary to make a retaining wall that prevents the ground from slipping.

Prefabricated or custom elements?

Available in most building stores, ready-made prefabricated products with standard dimensions will work on even terrain. The advantage of such a solution is the availability and low price, but there is no reason to count on the original aesthetics and at any moment an identical fence can appear in the neighbor. If the fence is to stand out, it is worth choosing the elements to order.

Such a solution is more expensive, but it gives more possibilities in the case of uneven terrain and special functional and aesthetic requirements. The most expensive fences are made of elements made according to an individual project. Choosing such a solution, you can be sure that the fence will be unique and fully adapted to your needs.

Choice of materials

The cheapest material is the woven fence mesh costing just a dozen zloty per meter. System fences made of welded wire with anticorrosion and varnish coating, such as Eurofence Heavy, available for as little as PLN 70 per 1m, are much more durable and slightly more expensive. Wood and aluminum are a good solution if you want privacy in the garden.

We will pay for them accordingly, and in the case of wood, the costs of onerous maintenance should be taken into account. The most expensive are fences made of architectural concrete, quartz sinters or glass.
